The amazing people from Firefly Festivals have invited us to their next festival on Saturday & Sunday, the 10th and 11th of May 2025.. Sham Rocks Tribute Festival is an exciting new 2-day tribute festival coming to New Milton, designed to bring the community together for a weekend of unforgettable live music and entertainment.
After years of delivering incredible events – from vibrant Pride celebrations to headline performances from renowned artists – they are thrilled to bring something unique to the South Coast in 2025: amazing tribute acts delivering world-class performances at a fraction of the price!
Of course we are going to be there with our Listening Post!! If you would love to come along too (make sure you come over and say 'hi') you can book your tickets here. And if you want to have a little discount on the already low price of the Adult Weekend Ticket - ensure you put 'KvLS' (without the '') in the promo code box on checkout!
Sham Rocks Tribute Festival will take place at Fawcett Fields, New Milton and we might utilise this to launch our low-cost counselling & psychotherapy services in/near Bournemouth.. 🤫

Both the well-intentioned critics and the guilt-ridden criticized shared the erroneous assumption that symptoms of ADHD could be overcome with sufficient determination and continuing exercise of presumably available willpower.”
~ Dr. Thomas Brown
Okay.. Let’s presume ‘they’ mean well. Their own upbringing and culture have let them to believe that this is the truth. And don’t forget the actual wording of the ‘diagnosis’ of ADHD: Attention Deficit Hyper-activity Disorder.. Maddening, isn’t it? Especially frustrating if you cannot explain what you really need, what you can and cannot do..

You might have noticed that we have added new pages to our website. In the navigation bar, under News, you can now find our Library. Our library has three sections: Colour Me Happy, Feel What You Feel and Mind Your Mind.
In Colour Me Happy you will find colouring pages which are free to download, with a little explanation about the colouring page itself.
In Feel What You Feel we do some Psycho-Education (and explain what that is :) with a Featured Article (this month about Suicide) and if you scroll down, you will find previous articles and information.
In Mind Your Mind we are adding Mental Health Worksheets, also free to download, which are linked with / follow ups from articles in Feel What You Feel.
Have a look around and tell us what you think.. Yes, it is a work in progress and we are planning on regular updates and additions.

Last weekend you would have found us at New Forest Pride.. We had the best sunny space with much needed shade, caught up with our friends from Beyond Reflections, made some new friends with the Labour Ladies next door and had some very interesting sit-downs and stand-up conversations. Thank you all for coming over and having a chat with us. Thank you for your kind supporting words and thank you for your stack of enquiries that followed - including job applications! This was our last Listening Post of the summer season - we will be back in November (fingers crossed)..

In the middle of this month we were at The Mela Festival, by Art Asia and took the big marque with us.. It meant that we had a proper chill zone at the back and we could shelter quite a few people when the heavens came down. The festival itself did not disappoint - amazing artist, choirs, dance groups and the food.. The food was spectacular! We renewed our friendship with The Saints Foundation who enthusiasticly told us about their Saints by Your Side - giving local men the tools they need to better manage their mental health through in-person (group) support sessions. We (KvLS) now also have male counsellors on our team..

Last weekend we launched our first ever Listening Post at People's Pride, Party in the Park at Hoglands Park Southampton. With thanks to Lori (our marketing guru) and Sammy (party in the park organisor), we set our marquee up around 8.30am! We went in search of coffee, met our lovely neighbours (Beyond Reflections, 5 Minute Wonders and The Sweet Shop Lady) and were ready to roll.. Amanda (my inlaw side-kick) was happy to help, Kelly & Tina (KvLS counsellors) joined us soon after and even Clara (my part-time stepdaughter) mucked in. We all had a wonderful time. We met some amazing people, had some very interesting conversations and even received invites for other festivals and gatherings.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could do this for a living? Contact us if you would like us to be at your event or festival too!
