Placement Opportunities

Throughout the year we have several placement and volunteer opportunities for counsellors who are at least Diploma (Level 4) qualified, and in training towards DipHE, BA/BSc (Hons), and/or working towards accreditation.

We believe working with a counsellor in training has amazing benefits: you are eager to learn and want to find out how best to support your clients. Our organisational objective of working towards the highest industry standards is met with our supportive, educative, and sometimes challenging culture.

We offer placements to counsellors who are Diploma (Level 4) qualified, have acquired their Fitness to Practice, and hold relevant membership status with either the BACP or the NCPS.

We welcome applications from counsellors of all backgrounds. At the moment, we are especially keen to hear from male counsellors, people from different faith communities, and those who are bi- or multi-lingual, as this helps us better reflect and support the diverse community we serve.

Volunteer placements are available throughout the year, with a commitment of at least one regular time slot (up to 3 clients), bi-weekly supervision, quarterly team meetings, and CPD (the latter two usually on a Saturday). All counselling sessions - whether in person, online, or by phone - take place at our offices in either Southampton or Bournemouth. Group supervision is also held in person at these locations, and our team meetings and CPD usually take place at our Southampton office.

If you are Diploma (Level 4) qualified, have received your Fitness to Practice (or are likely to receive this within the next two months), please get in touch with us using the button below for more details about how to apply to be part of our team.

👉 Please note: we are not able to offer fully remote placements. All placements require in-person attendance at our Southampton or Bournemouth offices.
