Now.. That's TV..
What would you want clients to know about their growth process?
Your growth process is unique to you and your life situation. We are all unique individuals, and whilst we may face similar situations we don’t all react the same or within the same timeframe. Trying to make sense of how we respond to things in life can take time to work through. It’s okay for our growth to be slow and steady; some of the largest and most magnificent trees on earth (Redwoods) take a long time to reach their full potential.
How do you create a safe and trusted environment during sessions?
In order for any of us to feel safe in a therapy environment, we have to feel accepted. It’s really important that we can be our true selves and share openly and honestly without fear of judgement. I want you to feel heard and accepted for who you are.
How do you approach difficult or sensitive topics?
Gently and with acceptance, so that you don’t feel judged and thus possibly close down from sharing something that might be really important to you. Sometimes we need time and space in order to open up about sensitive topics. Holding silence is something that I am comfortable with and this can allow you to reflect on what you have shared and start to process how that leaves you feeling.
How much room do you allow for humour and lightness in sessions?
I love humour and enjoy looking at the lighter side of life. I have found humour to be helpful when dealing with difficult issues. Humour should never belittle our feelings or situations, but when used appropriately, it can help us face some really complex issues with a renewed sense of perspective and hope.
How would you describe your personality in three words?
Kind, caring and fun.
