Celebrating 6 years of service and new digs!!
How would you describe your approach to therapy?
I have been trained in a pluralistic approach and through my own experience, I do believe this to be an approach that allows me to adapt my way of working to suit your individual needs. I want to meet you on your level and find out what will work for you and not limit myself to one specific method that may not work for everyone.
What are your core values in working with clients?
The most important thing I can offer you is a safe space to be yourself and explore what is going on for you at the moment. I value the skills of empathy, honesty and patience as well as listening toyour unique experience of the world so that I can help you to overcome challenges and reach your goals in the most effective way for you.
What can clients expect from an initial session with you?
In the initial session, I just want to get to know a bit about you as a person and try to help calm any nerves surrounding that first meeting. I will review some of the things you have mentioned on your intake form to clarify goals and expectations and answer any questions you may have for me about this process.
How do you, as a therapist, stay balanced and motivated?
I highly value self care and ensure that there is always something even if only 10 minutes of the day where I have a bit of time for myself. I enjoy spending time in nature and going for long walks to clear my mind where possible. I think it's important to take breaks to try and mange overwhelm and I find that after a rest, I feel more motivated to carry on with whatever I'm doing and have more mental clarity.
What do you hope clients take away from their session(s) with you?
I hope that by the end of our time together that you have a better understanding of yourself and your potential and you have made significant progress on achieving your goals. I also hope that you are able to continue using the tools and strategies that we have developed together on your own when faced with future challenges.
