Low Cost Counselling & Psychotherapy

Whether you encounter problems and obstacles in your daily life, career, overall productivity, relationships or anything else that’s important to you, we will support you to develop habits and skills to effectively deal with the challenges and emotional moments you are experiencing.

We support you in using a variety of holistic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychotherapy, Gestalt Therapy, Integrative Humanistic Counselling, Hypnotherapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Polyvagal Theory etc. We believe in developing collaborative relationships, empowering you to take control of your own mental health and enabling you to make informed decisions that fit best with you.

We aim to see you as promptly as possible as we understand the frustration of lengthy waiting lists. We can provide both long and short-term therapy and in principle these sessions would be weekly, same day, same time with the same counsellor.

If you or a loved one could benefit from mental health support, we encourage you to contact us today. Our friendly team is always ready to listen, support, and guide you on your journey towards improved mental wellbeing.

Our low-cost counselling fee is a self-select fee from £25 per session - no questions asked or any proof needed.

Specialist Counselling

Our Senior Counsellors are specifically trained to support Complex Grief, Complex Trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), Attention Deficit Hyper Disorder in adults (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder in adults (ADD), Autism Spectrum Disorder in adults (ASD), Parenting & Step-Parenting,  Anger Management and Stress Management, etc.

Our Specialist Counselling fee is from £50 per session.

Single Session Therapy

Single Session Therapy can help with a variety of concerns, including low mood, (social) anxiety, relationship problems, and 'simply wanting to get your head straight or around something'.

SST with KvLS Mental Health Support is focused on a specific issue, and your therapist helps you to work towards a solution that is right for you.  You will be given 'homework' before to the session so that you and your therapist can get started right away. The appointment lasts up to 75 minutes (one hour and fifteen minutes), and you will normally be seen within a week of returning your assignment, if not sooner. Of course, SST differs from weekly counselling sessions, and SST could be used to decide if you want or need more regular (counselling) support.

Be aware that SST is NOT crisis management - if you are in a crisis contact your GP, The Samaritans or the NHS Helpline.

Is Counselling with KvLS confidential?

Any information about yourself, including the fact that you are in counselling is confidential to KvLS  Mental Health Support.

The exception to this is if you tell us something that implies you will harm yourself, or a third party may be at risk, we are required to inform your GP. If we believe a child is at risk, we are required to make this information available to the appropriate service. In all cases, we would hope to do this with your permission, but will still proceed even if your permission is not given. This is in accordance with the Ethical Framework for Good Practice of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society's Code of Ethics.

Also when working online or by phone, we cannot guarantee confidentiality from your location. The responsibility for this rests with yourself. For us to work together online or by phone, we need to know that you can create a quiet space for yourself to talk freely and without interruption. For added privacy and session comfort, we would strongly suggest to use headphones with a microphone.

All KvLS counsellors have mandatory, regular casework supervision with a qualified supervisor. The supervisor's role is to support and monitor the counsellor's work and is confidential to the service. And of course all records are stored securely & are GDPR compliant.
